Scaling images with little quality loss

Hi,

This is a short tutorial to make a small image large with little quality loss.
It is true that some quality is lost during this process, but you don't have the image with those nasty pixels. To try out this tutorial, simply save the image that I attach and open in Photoshop. Now, in Photoshop, Press CTRL+A, which selects the whole layer, and now press CTRL+C, which copies the content to the clipboard.

Now, go to file, NEW and keep the settings that appear, but put 300 at the resolution input box. Now go to Image -> Image Size and resize the picture to 1024(x769).
Voila, your large image, with little quality loss. For best exporting options use BMP or TIFF file types, as these have very little quality loss.
This method is recommended by me for desktop wallpapers in case you really like a small image and want it as background. I don't recommend it for webpage creation.

That's about it. Hope you've enjoyed this little holiday tutorial.

Kind regards,
Eddie
