and many other.

Do the following.

Insert and image or make a shape in swishmax, put it wherever you want,
Group as spite the image or shape you want to make the effect on,then draw any kinda of shape you want for my example here i used circle.

Check out the image below:

Note: I'm masking 3 shapes(the blue ones)

Becareful, every sprite you should check the "use the bottom as mask",on the sprite tab, because your effect won't work if you don't do that.

You can rename the shape that you use as mask,"mask" so as to be easier noticed from you.

Select the mask, and put a "move" effect on it,then go to the timeline and click preview frame.

On the end of the move effect, click on the little dot.Go to the layout scene and drag where your mask want to go or make it bigger.
Accordingly to what effect you want to create, you can use more "moves" after the first move. You just repeat the process. On the end put a "stop" so as the effect to stop.
IF YOUR IMAGE SHOWS UP BEFORE THE FRAME YOU WANT IT TO SHOW UP,JUST USE A "PLACE" EFFECT ON THE FRAME YOU WANT IT TO SHOWS UP(SAME FRAME AS THE MOVE EFFECT OF COURSE.

here's how the stage looks like after that(while i'm still on the little dot.

note: I hide the other images so as not to confuse you.

And there it is,your masked effect.

Use different shapes to create different effects!Play with it a little and i'm sure you'll create amazing effects.

I forgot to say, that it's better to use higher frame rate in your projects when you use masking effects like the ones above,as it looks more smoother.
I used 45frame rate for my site.

Take a look at this also
