after seeing my car swf lots of ppl were asking for the swi file so I decided to post a tutorial on the light effect.

heres the link to a the working example

.:: CLICK HERE TO VIEW EXAMPLE ::.

First off get the image you want to apply it too. Take the bezier tool user posted image and draw custom shapes on where you want the light to go ... mine looked like this:

every red shape should be an individual sprite. (when you make the shape into a sprite make sure you click use bottom object as a mask and make sure the red remains on the bottom in the sprite)

then once you have the basic areas done you are going to start adding the light to the sprites. To do this draw a rectangle and fill it with a linear gradient. (you may have to rotate the shape to get the gradient going in the right direction [notice the centre gradient isnt at 100% opacity - set it to like 40-56% the outside ones should be at 0%])

Then after you do that to all your shapes your going to apply the 'move' action to them

click the preview frame icon user posted image on the timeline and drag it to the last frame of the move action

then you will see red squares around your gradient shape. make sure the gradient shape is wide enough to cover the red mask shape then with the preview frame on drag the shape to where you want it to end up

*you may also have to apply several move actions to get the light going in the right direction*

hope it works biggrin.gif
