Modelling and animating 3D photorealistic watch

(Swift3D advance tutorial part 3)

Modelling the glass element using the Lathe Editor tools



1.Open Lathe editor and with the Add Point Tool, draw something like this.

2.Now with the Curve Point Tool , make smoothness of this points (see picture1) to make something like this(see picture2).

3.Now, back to the Scene Editor and you'll see something like this.

4.In the Properties panel, set the Segmentation/Radial Segments to 64 and in the Materials panel/Transparent choose Transparent Red color (we'll change this color with the real glass color) to texture your glass element and with the Scaling Mode tool and resize your object to make something like this.

5.Goto the Properties panel/Scale and make this settings for Scale.

6.Move your glass element to locate it like in the picture below.

7.Open the Lathe Editor again, to make the detail on the top of your watch.Make a shape like in this picture.

8.Now, back again in the Scene Editor, in the Properties panel set the Segmentation/Radial Segments to 64, with the Scale Mode tool resize the new object (make it smaller) and locate it like in this picture.

9.Texture this detail with Reflective Orange material ( see picture ) and in change the color of the glass to the Transparent White.

10.Now in the Main menu/Edit click Select All and in the Main menu/Arrange click Group to group all elements into one.In the Properties panel/Object add name watch.

Finishing the project and making some details


1.In the Properties panel/Environment change the Backgroung Color to black and create a Plane with the Create Plane tool.Locate your watch over the plane and resize the plane like in this picture!

2.Goto the Materials panel/Wood and add Petrified Material for your plane.

3.Rotate yor watch like in this picture and you can start to render your animated 3d watch with the raster (photorealistic) method of rendering, and export your animation like *.swf file.

4.Now test your animation to view the result of your hard job!That's all!Enjoy! wink.gif
