This tutorial will explain how I created the masking effect on the banner, here.

_________________________________

1. First I started by using the beizer tool and tracing around the more yellow areas.

2. I then grouped the shape I had created in a masked sprite.

* To create a masked sprite, simply check the box labled 'masked' on the sprite toolbox.
The mask will be the object at the bottom of the sprite, in this case the shape I just created.

3. Now inside the sprite.
I created a rectangle and gave it a gradient fill with a transparent alpha.

* To set the alpha (transparancey) open the color box and next to the 'R' 'G' & 'B' there is a box called 'A' (Alpha) enter the percentage you want transparent.

4. Now we simply add the move effect.
Right click on the gradient filled rectangle and select 'effect' then 'move'.

Now move your rectangle so a dotted line passes through the entire mask.

5. I set the effect to 100 frames and added some easing from the effect setting box.

Thats it!
