Description:

This tutorial will guide you how to use shine/3D Lights with different vector shapes, which is the best technique to show every part in a prominent way. Here is the image what we are going to make:

The ZIP file that contains all steps with swi, is attached below.

Designing Tool Area:
We will just use bezier tool for that (you may use any other tool). The base would be SOLID and the shine would be according to the design.

BASE:
Draw a shape using the “Bezier” tool and select the same color that I applied. I am using the shape as arm so, for understanding the steps in a better way, you have to draw the same arm as I have in the following image:

Steps:

STEP 1:

Copy the bezier shape as arm we made in above step. Paste it exactly where the arm base was. It means where the solid bezier shape as base was located. Make it “Radial Gradient” by going into the “Shape” tab and selecting the “Ragial Gradient” option from the “Solid” already applied color. The poniters where you can get your mouse point, click on the left one and pick the same colour from the base. Now you have to make another point in the middle of the two points left and arm. Click in the middle of the colour select option and you will get a point there. For the middle and the right ones you have to select the light version of the base colour, then insert the following limits in their ALPHA value box:

Left point : A 50%
Middle point : A 50%
Right point : A 0%

Have a look at this image:

STEP 2:

Follow the same above method, just the ALPHA of the middle colour point would be changed to 100%. See the following image:

STEP 3:

Same as above two methods but you will stretch the middle colour point to the left side and its ALPHA would be changed to 70%. Then you will move it as I moved in the following image:

STEP 4:

Again same as above steps but you will move the shadow according to the following image:

STEP 5:
That’s the last step, its ALPHA would be same, just you would stretch the shadow and move it according to the following image:

The 3D shine/lights have been completed:

Here is their usage:
