Assumption :
you can insert images
set quality
add effect
It is often noticed that users add images in bmp format to maintain
the actual quality of picture and set their compression to jpeg. But
when any effect is given to it, the size of output swf becomes amlost
same to file containing bmp image. The question arrives
"HOW TO REDUCE SIZE AS WELL AS MAINTAIN QUALITY"
Answer to this, is, user Portable Network Graphics image format (png).
SWiSH 2 successfully supports png format other than created with
"ACD See 3" or above.
What to do?
Use "Sea Graphics Viewer" for dos to convert your bmp image to png.
I have tested it personally and found brilliant result of compression.
Actual bmp image was 962 kb and converted png became 17 kb only.
Note:- Don't use jpeg compression when using png format, select ZIP
compression from image properties.
Quality remains same and movie size is reduced.
